Here Most of the festivals of Kerala are connected with local traditions and religions like boat races, Vishu, Onam and many more.

Vishu is one of the important festivals of Kerala which is  celebrated in the month of April as per the Malayalam calendar. This traditional festival is devoted to Vishu, where the local people prepare Kani. In the preparation of Kani, Coconuts, fruits, cereals and Konna flowers are kept in big pots. Interestingly, on the occasion of Vishu, master of the house sees the Kani and then the rest of the family follows and is considers as good luck which stay with you till the year end.

Onam is the most important and popular festival of Kerala which is to commemorate the homecoming of Mahabali. Mahabali  was a king  who was who ruled over Kerala. Onam is the harvest festival of Kerala and is celebrated with lots of fervor and gaiety.  In the month of Sep and Oct this festival is been celebrated and come with religious harmony and provides for family get-together.

All over Kerala, celebrate Christmas on 25 December and is an important festival of Kerala like Onam and Vishnu. During the celebration, people exchanges of cards, gifts and even plant Christmas tree.
